Sultan (Kiraz/Cherry) Highland: (Manisa – City Center)
Arrived at via a branching path towards the left on Mevlana road ascending the mountain within boundaries of Mount Spil National Park, Sultan Highland is situated at 850 meters above the sea level. In the region especially famous for cherry trees growing in the highland, it is a favorable location to relax and rejuvenate with its cold drinking water springs and the cover of deep green pines.
Called “Sultan Highland” for being a region, where princes ascending the sanjak in Manisa have spent summer months by escaping the hot climate of the city for centuries, the site stands as an important promenade area also by being located at a distance of 14 km from the city center.
Akpınar Picnic Area: (Manisa – City Center)
It is a site located on Manisa-Turgutlu road and on mountainsides of Mount Spil, and being used as a picnic area for many years. There is an artificial lake and pergolas suitable for having a picnic in the area arranged by the Municipality of Manisa. Being located at a distance of 7 km from the city center, it is a popular recreational area that is visited by local people and that becomes crowded especially during weekends.
Sycamore Fountain (Manisa – City Center):
It is located on Osmancalı road under the administration of the Central district of Manisa. Located at a distance of 26 km from Manisa, drinking water and restroom facilities are available in the picnic area along with forest cover.
Çağlak Pass: (Akhisar)
It is a promenade area located near Kargın Village of Akhisar district. Çağlak Creek passes through the region covered with pine and olive trees. Days celebrated almost like a local bairam by local people as a tradition of hundreds of years during the first or the second week of May every year are now being celebrated as a festival that is to become of an international scale with contributions of Akhisar Municipality.
The festival is based on the story of a crowded group of people waiting for 17 days, who wanted to welcome Sheikh İsa, a wise person from Akhisar who was regarded as a very important figure lived in the 15th century, after he had completed his education and returned back to Akhisar, and their engagement in various activities while waiting for his arrival.
Water Hole: (Akhisar)
The area, called “The Water Hole” and located north of the district, is situated enxt to the Ancient Lycos (Gürdük) stream, and it is both a beautiful picnicking area and a historical archaeological site. On the hill across the bridge, remains of Gürdükkale (Chliara) of Byzantine period can be seen even if to a small extent.
It is a picnic area in Söğütçük Village located at a distance of 22 km away from Demirci District center. Artificial lakes, a restaurant, playgrounds, benches, picnic tables, drinking water fountains and restrooms are located in this picnic area.
Akpınar Promenade Area: (Gölmarmara)
Located at a distance of 5 km from Gölmarmara and 50 km from Salihli, and situated in the vicinity of Beyler Village, the area is established around a natural water spring. Traditional Melon & Watermelon Festival is being held in this area that is quite rich in the respect of natural beauties. It is a popular picnic area for people living in Gölmarmara and nearby districts. Water spring located in the area has become famous by its cold waters as “watermelon lifter” and “watermelon cracker” among local people.
Kocamurtluk Promenade Area: (Gördes)
Benches, furnaces and restrooms are available in this promenade area, which is set up in a forest area at a distance of 1.5 km from Gördes district. Hıdrellez Fest, which has become a tradition in the district, is celebrated during the first few days of May every year, in the area arranged by Gördes Municipality. Attendance throughout the district is dense, and activities of the festival are exhilerating.
Ovacık Highland (Turgutlu):
Located at a distance of 62 km from Manisa and 31 km from Turgutlu, Ovacık Highland is situated near Kuşlar Village under the administration of Turgutlu District. Picnic site, where magnificent nature views can be witnessed in a vast, plain forest area, is a place to travel to and relax including all facilities both for local people and for visitors travelling to the region.
